In 2000, parents concerned about the quality of education for South Carolina students collaborated to form South Carolina Parents Involved in Education (SCPIE). For more than a decade, SCPIE has worked to inform parents and other South Carolina citizens on key education issues. SCPIE endeavors to improve the quality of education in South Carolina and protect the rights of parents to direct their children’s education.
While SCPIE is a parent-driven organization, the impact of education on all of society has expanded its membership to include parents, grandparents and other education stakeholders. Among stakeholders are taxpayers and patriotic Americans who understand the connection between pedagogy and a nation’s governmental philosophy. As Abraham Lincoln said, “The philosophy of the classroom in one generation will be the philosophy of the government in the next.”
“South Carolina Parents Involved in Education (SCPIE) is a grassroots organization committed to conservative education reform through training and educating parents, grandparents and other education stakeholders.”
