SC PIE is a grassroots organization committed to excellence in the public schools of South Carolina through the meaningful involvement of parents in children’s education.
The talk about education reform has gone on for decades. Committees, panels and experts have prescribed many different solutions for the declining achievement of our children. If money were the sole answer to the education problems, we should have seen positive changes by now. SC PIE believes that the missing ingredient to true education reform is South Carolina’s parents.
Parents are missing from their own children’s education. They are missing from decision making on the local level. They are missing from decision making on the state and federal levels. SC PIE works to positively impact education by informing and activating parents to be involved on all levels of education.
SC PIE also believes that education reforms must support parents’ and communities’ values. Schools must serve their communities, always working to strengthen the parent-child bond. To this end, SC PIE seeks to develop and advocate legislative initiatives that support parental and community values. SC PIE also supports and encourages like-minded people to seek public office.
